About This Guide

Dashboards gives users the capability to easily visualize complex data modeled in Excel. The Dashboards

Component SDK enables Flex and HTML5 developers to add new components in Dashboards for

desktop and mobile consumption. Add-on developers can convert any flex widget or component, wrap

any HTML5 widget or component, and add it to the Dashboards designer.

Note:

The Dashboards Component SDK is for use with Adobe Flex SDK 4.0 only.

The SDK enables Add-on developers to:

• Create new Adobe Flex and HTML5 visual components, such as charts and gauges.

• Create custom Adobe Flex and HTML5 connections.

• Add support for additional Excel functions using ActionScript and JavaScript.

• Take existing Adobe Flex and HTML5 components and re-use them within Dashboards.

• Package components as add-ons for installing into Dashboards.

Note:

The Dashboards Component SDK is available in English only.

Who should read this guide

Adobe Flex and HTML5 developers who want to understand how to develop new or re-use existing

Adobe Flex and HTML5 components within Dashboards.

This guide assumes that you are familiar with Dashboards and also with using Adobe Flash Builder 4

and writing ActionScript and JavaScript.
